Nalgene Goes BPA-Free!

I am a traveler. There was a time when no self-respecting backpacker would be caught without a Nalgene bottle dangling from a carabiner on the side of his or her pack.
If you were REALLY hip, you used the same Nalgene bottle ALL THE TIME and personalized it with stickers that referenced obscure places, bands, or eco-clubs.
When the news about the possibly harmful side effects of BPA in plastic food containers came out, I didn't want to take any risks with my health, so I tossed all of my BPA plastics, including offending sippy cups, baby bottles, and my beloved sports bottles.

I was so excited to learn that Nalgene has a line of BPA-free bottles! I am proud to say that we have a set for the whole family!

Nalgene bottles are made in the USA, are indestructible, and are taste & odor free, so you can enjoy your drinks without that yucky tainted plastic smell.

The BPA-free bottles include:

The 32-oz "everyday" bottle, that my husband drinks coffee out of (kind of weird, I know...).
The Everyday retails for $11.50.

The OTG has a handy flip-top lid and holds 24 ounces of BPA-free hydration! The Nalgene OTG retails for $11.99.

My FAVORITE new BPA-free offering from Nalgene are these adorable Grip-N-Gulp bottles! It is the convenience and spill-proof qualities of a sippy cup, but the Grip-N-Gulp looks a lot more "grown up" than a standard sippy.

Both of my boys love using the Grip-N-Gulp. When we first got it, I removed the valve because it was almost too difficult to drink through. Even without the valve, there is very little leakage. At $9.25, I think the Grip-N-Gulp is a great value for a BPA-free kid's cup!

The first day I took the Grip-n-Gulp out on the town with us to run some errands, I left it in on the counter of the grocery store while I was checking out!

Luckily a friend of mine had seen me in the grocery store and realized what had happened when they saw my abandoned bottle. I was glad to be reunited with our Grip-N-Gulp! I was so afraid my son would be devastated if it was lost!

Nalgene is giving away a set of all 3 BPA-Free bottles mentioned in this post (ARV 32.75)!

To enter, tell me another product you would like to have from Nalgene!

For a second entry, leave another comment telling me how you would use your 3 BPA-Free Nalgene bottles.

One winner will be chosen at random.

This giveaway will close on November 1, 12 midnight CST!

*Giveaway closed! Congrats to Olga!*

Ahhh...I love Nalgene. When my sister got her first Nalgene water bottle, we threw it down the basement stairs to see if it really was unbreakable. That was when we learned that the black lids were not unbreakable...only the blue ones. then she couldn't use her bottle for a week while we waited for a new lid...oops!

I like their 16 oz bottles...they help me keep on track with my water intake. One bottle in the morning, one with lunch, one in the afternoon, then a glass of water with dinner, and I always have more in the evening.

Nalgene's storage containers are efficiant. I liked the 32oz PC jar in glacier blue. I like packing snacks in containers instead of buying the high priced mini bags of snacks.

Beth said...

I would use the bottles for my 1st grader who refuses to use the drinking fountain at school. Our pediatrican told him not to use it to take his own water. I was sending him with bottles but that was wasteful so I send in a plastic bottle.

Anonymous said...

We would use them everyday! They would be perfect - one for each of us to use on the go..my husband, my self and my little boy who is ready to move on beyond his sippy cup. I have one reusable water container for me and I get so annoyed when I get somewhere and have forgotten it and have to buy water. So, this way one would always be free and one could be in the wash. I'm trying to convert my husband to using one, so having his own might do the trick.

We've been trying to drink more water, and I've seen how easy it is to get my kids to drink more water if it's already cold in the fridge. I don't want to buy bottled water, however, and have been thinking about buying a set of bottles to keep filled and in the fridge - something like this would be ideal!

I'd love to also have some of the storage containers. I threw out all the plastic ones in our house, we only use glass right now.

My husband and I would use the larger two. Since we don't have small ones in the house, I would give the last one to my friend at church.

I would get the 24oz "On The Go" TRITAN - Filter for Good! I would love to be entered if I'm eligible (I'm from Canada), thank you!

3 of them, perfect! Hubby would get the 32oz, as he's HUGE on water, Little man would get the big boy sippy cup, as he's just starting to drink like a big boy, and that would leave me with more manageable 24oz!

I would use one bottle for me to take to work everyday. The other two I would use for my children. One is 16 months and my daughter is 12 and takes her own lunch to school and is in sports so she needs to bring her own bottle

I like the filter for good bottle because I like that they've gotten Brita to partner up and do something about global warming.

My husband would actually use the everyday bottle for coffee, too. The other ones I would use because I love the small mouth designs!

Any chance we can convince Nalgene to make baby bottles as well? That would be great! Please enter me in the drawing.

I really like the N-Gen bottles! Nalgene bottles are amazing!

I would definitely be using one of the 3 for myself (preggies have to stay hydrated!), have one available for our daughter so she gets enough water and send the last one with hubbie so he can have a reuseable and safe bottle at the gym!

I would get love some of those small 1oz containers. I pack my lunch every day and those would be perfect for a single serving of salad dressing, salsa, or sour cream!

I love their flex canteens, and their square containers are really convenient too!

Grip-n-Gulp Blue - Tritan is something that we like too! We could really use these! As I really don't like drinking out of plastic that tastes!

Have a lovely day!

We could totally use these in our house. As for other Nalgene products - other than those offered - the first on my list is the purple Grip and Gulp!
